Hopefully you won't see Stella as a  "one-eyed kitten" but as the LOVING, playful, curious, friendly, confident kitten that she truly is that just happens to have lost an eye! She is all of those wonderful things and more. She's like any normal kitty with boundless energy - way more affectionate than lots of cats - loving to be held and cuddled in close. Stella is joyful and full of life and having only one eye doesn't slow her down at all. In fact, she has been much more active and much happier  since the day her eye was removed. 

Stella was only about 6 weeks old when Adopt A Stray heard about a litter of kittens living at a condo with a kitten having a bad eye. When someone went over to check them out, the person that was feeding them just went and picked them up and gave them to us. It was obviously too late for "what if's" but it is hard to understand how anyone could've been feeding these friendly kittens daily and known about Stella's eye and not done anything sooner to get her help! At that time, it was already too late to save her eye and too late to know what had happened to it. She did go to an eye specialist for a month but her eye continued to get worse and the decision was made to remove it. From the day Stella was rescued she was sweet, friendly and quiet. She would play a little bit with her 2 brothers but she always seemed a little sad. After her surgery, from the very next day, there was such a difference in everything about her. She is so much happier - so much more playful - even more loving. Now she is just a normal happy cat. When Stella is at the Aventura PetSmart on the weekends, it is most often her playful, attention seeking personality that makes people notice her and then they notice that she is missing an eye. 

Like most cats and kittens, Stella would love to live with another friendly cat and it would be really great if it happened to be her brother Jett or her buddy Bongo. You can meet all of these wonderful kitties and more at the PetSmart in Aventura on Saturdays from 11am-6pm and on Sundays from 10am - 4pm. When you meet Stella, we know that you are going to be blown away by her friendly, affectionate personality - not the fact that she just happens to have only one eye.

Stella & her brother, Jett, will be 6 months old around the middle of March.
