Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Baby : : Medium
When we got the call about Cosa & his sister, Sunkist, we were told that there had been 4 small kittens but that 2 had disappeared. When we got to the location, we found these 2 gorgeous kittens playing in a lush planter - confident that, though we could see them clearly & watch their wrestling, the growth was so thick that we couldn't touch them. The planter island that this little family called home was surrounded by the busy parking lots of a gas station, a Taco Bell and a popular strip joint. It wasn't hard to imagine what had happened to the other 2 kittens. That had to be the only time ever that you would find 3 AAS volunteers together without a carrier, a trap or a single can of cat food. So, we called for reinforcements but before she arrived with the necessary supplies, the young male manager from the gas station firmly informed us that "the cats were just fine there" that they "take care of them." When we argued that they were going to get run over, he bragged that there were 7 generations of cats living there. Well, we'd already been told by one of the employees that there were exactly 4 adults and the kittens there but there was no point in trying to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man. As he walked off, he stopped to yell back at us - "And we don't want their b_lls cut off." Wow! So, soon after, like thieves in the night, we rescued Cosa & Sunkist from their likely death-trap and got their feral mom spayed. The biggest surprise was Nola, their spunky, beautiful sister who showed up the day after Cosa & Sunkist were picked up. Needless to say, Nola did not get left behind. Cosa was the first to hiss and the first to warm up to his foster mom. That took all of 2 days - and within a week he was approaching her for attention & love. From the start, Cosa & Sunkist have been extremely playful and curious. Now, they both enjoy sitting in your lap and cuddling. With plenty of love & attention, Cosa will settle into a new home within a couple of days. He gets along great with other kittens. He would probably be fine with a cat-friendly dog as well but he hasn't been introduced to one yet. If you are considering adding 2 new kitties to your family, he would be happy to get adopted with Sunkist or to get reacquainted with his sister, Nola. Cosa & Sunkist will be hanging out at the Aventura PetSmart on Saturdays & Sundays. You can also meet them during the week with an approved application. Nola is in a different foster home. Be sure to check her out on this same website. You can meet her most Saturdays at the Pembroke Pines PetSmart. Please contact info@adoptastray.ws for more information about this pet.
