This handsome boy is only 1 year old and can't be expected to understand why he isn't at home with his little boy and mom  - sleeping in his soft bed & playing with his toys. He just knows that his world has turned upside down and he misses his family terribly. The doctor said that "the cat has to go" and Maverick is left looking for a new family to share his love with. He loves gentle children and warm laps. Laser lights, cat trees & furry toy mice would be a nice bonus but most of all he just misses being loved.

Maverick is a sweetheart that has found himself in a confusing situation. He is playful & friendly and enjoys being cuddled and carried around. Most of the time, he gets along well with the other cats in the adoption center at PetSmart but sometimes his frustration over his situation gets the better of him and he will bother a couple of the other cats - being a little too aggressive with cats that don't appreciate his rough-housing. It is especially hard for a cat that has had a home and a wonderful life to find themselves spending a good bit of the day in a cage and the rest of the day with a few too many cats. Maverick would be perfectly happy to be an only cat again. He would also probably be fine with a buddy or two and enough space to not be on top of each other all the time. But right at the top of his list of priorities is someone to love that will make him feel special again. You can meet Maverick at the Adoption Center at the Aventura PetSmart.
