Freedom had a rough start in life. He was born homeless, as so many other hundreds of thousands of dogs are each year. Freedom has several wounds all of which appear to be caused by dog fights. Whether these wounds were caused by food aggression from other dogs or he was used as a bait dog, we do not know. His wounds are not severe and are healing nicely.

Freedom is about 7 months old and weighs 38 pounds.  We estimate his adult weight to be between 45 - 55.

Day 1 - He was so scared he laid in his dog bed and did not move.  Freedom ate his food when it was put in front of him.  He had to be carried outside to go potty.  He would walk very little and sit.
Day 2- Freedom still stays in his dog bed, but his tail is starting to wag when you speak baby talk to him.  He is eating well, but still needs to be carried to go potty.
Day 3 - Due to him acting so lethargic, he was taken to the vets office to get examined.  Freedom check out fine and his blood work came back overall good, he does have parasites but that was expected and he had already started treatment for them.
Day 4- He gets up on his own to go potty outside and he is starting to trust us.  Freedom gives kisses and wags when he sees us.
Day 5 - He is introduced to other dogs, and it is clear he is very nervous.  Freedom has his tail tucked under his belly and walks very slowly.
Day 6- Freedom is introduced to other dogs again.  He is initially nervous, but when he sees one of the dogs is trying to get him to play he starts to play.
Day 10 - Freedom enjoys playing with the other dogs!

Freedom is house broken and is good with dogs and cats.   He is a little nervous with the "come" command, if you talk baby talk he comes wagging and happy.  Freedom loves to receive and give lots of kisses, he is a wonderful boy and is looking for his forever home.
