UPDATE :  Chloe took a trip to the vet today to get her rabies vaccine and the change in her personality was amazing!! She was so excited for some time out of the adoption center that she could not stand still. She was friendly with each of the staff that came in to say hello and had a huge burst of energy that we don't often see from her in the PetSmart cat room. She hadn't gotten to see a change of scenery in a while and she just wanted to jump off the table and explore - but, unfortunately, she couldn't be allowed to do that. She was friendly and cooperative and her little trip was too short. It just makes us want a real home for her even more. For Chloe to be able to move on and have her own family to love would be a dream come true for her and all of the Adopt A Stray volunteers. Crazy active kittens are definitely not the right pick for every family. Chloe is a young adult with a lifetime of LOVE to give. She is still waiting for a family to share her life, love & purrs with and, now, more than ever, we believe she will adjust quickly to a new home and be a wonderful, FUN, affectionate companion for that someone who takes a chance on her for many years to come.

Chloe is now part of our Second Chance Program. That means that Adopt A Stray would consider a trial adoption for her to the perfect home. It is time for Chloe's luck to change and her forever life to begin. We are on a serious search for someone with a huge heart to just give our Chloe a chance. We are looking for a real cat-person that understands that a cat needs to be in a stable, loving, trusting environment to thrive and reach their full potential. All the Adopt A Stray volunteers that have spent the last year caring for her and getting to know her and seeing glimpses of the playful, slim, loving beauty queen she is inside will be very surprised if she doesn't become the love of her new family's life - if only a loving family will give her that chance. Chloe enjoys attention. Come on over to the PetSmart in Aventura and meet her - spend a little time getting to know her - and consider making her your new loving companion for years to come. (She would be just fine with another nice cat or 2.)

 Chances are that Chloe doesn't remember what it was like to have a home. We don't know much about her previous home except that her family moved away and left her behind - along with her buddy, Spencer. Spencer was lucky and got adopted over a year ago but sweet Chloe is still waiting. Chloe was fortunate that a neighbor of her first family cared enough to make sure that she didn't face the future on the street but her life since being rescued hasn't been ideal by any means. Her home for now is the Adoption Center at the Aventura PetSmart. Some cats enjoy the social atmosphere of the Adoption Center living with approximately 10 other cats and with different people coming and going all the time - but not Chloe. In her opinion, that is too many cats in too small of a space with too many strangers wanting to touch her all the time and it's pretty stressful for her. She doesn't fight with any of the other cats - she just bides her time in her cage or hanging out on a cat tree - waiting for her life to take a turn. Unfortunately, when a cat is depressed, it is almost impossible to see how wonderful they really are so, due to Chloe's sad plight and her chubbiness due to lack of exercise, she has been overlooked for adoption time & again.
