China is a very affectionate kitten who is full of life and love. She adores people, children and especially other cats. Recently, one of her cat friends went to a different foster home for a couple of weeks. Upon her return China immediately coddled her, began grooming her, letting her know she was safe and at home.  This is a perfect example of China’s heart!
China can be held like a baby, sit on your lap, cuddle up with you...China has it all. She is finally ready for adoption and after you read her journey, you will know that she deserves the best home ever!

China’s journey

China came to us as a 3 week old kitten on September 19, 2019, sweet and loveable with a small scrape on her right rear leg. Her scrape didn’t heal, but it didn’t get worse. At about eight weeks old the area had gotten larger and it was treated for a possible fungus and bacteria infection. Nothing worked! Her small wound was cultured and biopsied and the appropriate antibiotic was given. But her wound got larger, not better!

A decision was made to put her under anesthesia and do a deep biopsy and culture and clean the wound. The culture showed a different  bacteria and by now we were so happy to get the answer and a new antibiotic was given and her leg was sutured up.  It seemed to be getting better with the procedure and meds. But then it worsened again. Throughout this whole time China used her leg, she didn’t seem to be in any pain and her personality remained exactly the same. China is sweet, loving, playful, you can hold her like a baby and she loves it. All during this time China had kitten friends her age and most got adopted. She played with whoever was at her foster home.

Her story continues to be lengthy, so we will skip a few of her surgeries and procedures. There were numerous vets involved in China’s treatment including a dermatologist. So once again Chinas leg underwent a more aggressive procedure to get deep tissue to finally find out what was going on and it worked!!! So we thought. It didn’t, the meds didn’t work and we had to make a decision. China had been through so much, daily meds for over 5 months, four surgeries, dips and so on. We tried everything to save her leg, we would have done anything!!! Sadly, her leg was amputated and we all mourned the loss, except for China who said good more meds and she can get on with her life.

Funny enough, Jinx, a Bombay kitten, China’s age who was with her for many months had a complete change in his personality. When China came home from her surgery Jinx could not leave her side. He walked next to her, laid by her side and two weeks later still being her guardian angel. It is so heartwarming to see Jinx as China’s protector even though China doesn’t need protecting. Her recovery has been fast and China is as sweet as ever. Every time she went to the vet they carried on about how sweet and special she is. And she is.
