Cheddar is a male, orange tabby Born on March 1, 2017. Cheddar along with his six littermates were rescued from a high kill shelter with their mom. Cheddar and one of his sisters had one horrible looking eye. They were only 2 1/2 weeks old, but you could tell there was something majorly wrong with them. Cheddar and his sister were taken to Dr. Blackwood, veterinarian ophthalmologist who has seen them almost weekly since that time. It was determined that Cheddar had no eyesight in his right eye. But he continued to have treatment to hopefully save his eye for aesthetic reasons only. But Cheddar being a outgoing, fun loving normal kitten, bounced around and kept knocking this eye. So the decision was made to remove the eye so that he could bounce around and have fun and not get drops in his eyes 3 to 4 times a day and just be Cheddar. He has black sutures in some of the pictures he will look much better without them. 

 

About his personality:
Maybe because Cheddar got so much attention several times a day with eyedrops and going to the vet, that he is a very social and loving kitten. Or maybe he just has a terrific personality and that's who he is. The surgery went well and Cheddar acts the same loving sweet little boy.
