Fresco, male brown and white, border collie mix, born April 2016 was rescued with his sister, who has already been adopted.   Fresco looks just like an Australian Red Border Collie.

Fresco is a very sweet dog that loves to sit by your feet or take his cute little head and lay it in your lap. He's very eager to learn and in the short time that Adopt A Stray has him, he has jumped leaps and bounds as far as his learning. When Fresco was found he did not know what a leash or collar was and found it very disturbing to be lead on a leash. Now he's an excellent walker and he is so full of love and joy.

Fresco exhibits lots of border collie personalities, he may not herd sheep but he is very willing to learn new tasks. Some of the border collie characteristics are adaptability, they have a high sensitivity level, they are very affectionate and easy to train. They do not have the prey drive that most people think they have, but they do have a high energy level and love to play and exercise. They are also considered to adapt well to apartment living because they are calm indoors and polite with other residents.

Frescos perfect home would be one that would include him in lots of fun challenging outdoor activities. Some Border Collies are used for search and rescue because they love to work and be stimulated.


Fresco does need to learn some more basic commands but is so ready to have his new family teach them to him in the loving manner he deserves.

You can meet this wonderful dog at Sunshine Animal Hospital, Pembroke Pines, Fl by appointment with an approved application or most Saturdays at the Pembroke Pines Petsmart between 12 and 6pm.
