Please contact info@adoptastray.ws for more information about this pet. Claire was hanging around a local business with a group of feral cats being fed to keep the rats away. The owners wanted her gone.....the problem was she was too friendly. She kept walking up to people to get petted and tried to get in their cars with them. She needed to find a home so Adopt A Stray stepped in. Claire is now in a foster home and loving her new life. Although it didn’t seem to bother her, one of Claire’s eyes looked abnormal so she was taken to a veterinary ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist, Dr. Sara Blackwood, said at some point, Claire had an eye infection and although she was able to recover from it, it left scar tissue on her eye. Dr. Blackwood, was able to remove most of the scar tissue and the remaining tissue may disintegrate on its own. If it doesn’t Claire’s eye is fine and needs no further treatment. Thank you Dr. Blackwood. Claire is young and likes to follow you from room to room to be where the “action is”. She plays like a kitten and loves to run and jump and chase. Although her favorite is interactive play time with a feather on a pole, she will play by herself for an hour throwing around a toy mouse, pouncing on it and then kicking it with her back feet. For some reason she likes jumping into an empty bathtub and rolling around, not sure why but it will definitely make you smile. When she’s through playing and the house is quiet, she will want to be on the couch with you. Not necessarily on you or even right next to you, but she will be there. In the morning, when your alarm goes off, she may jump in bed with you and do a few head butts or lick your hands, just to make sure you don’t fall back asleep and miss work! Update: Recently Claire has been sharing her foster home with 4 baby kittens. The expectation was that she would be like a mother figure to them, but instead they became her playmates. She runs, chases and wrestles with them and does it in a way that they don't seem to realize she is twice their size! You can meet this wonderful kitty by appointment with an approved application. You can fill out an application for Claire at the Pembroke Pines Petsmart or go to www.adoptastray.ws/applications/ to fill out an application online or print and fax one to (954) 965-0406.
